For a fun-filled experience this nature, book a tickets for the BS1100 which seats 10 people. Each comfortable chair has its own window, so you will have uninterrupted views of the ocean bed. The submarine is piloted by an experienced captain who knows everything about Indian Ocean creatures. You will be taken out to old wreckage, the Star hope, where Zebra Fish, Eels and other sea life congregate. At the end of the trip you will receive a certificate signed by the pilot to acknowledge you were 35 meters under the sea. A cool soft drink is also included. The trip lasts 2 hours in total (including 40 mins of dive time) and you will be given a thorough explanation of the day’s activities, plus all the safety precautions needed. You do not need to bring any special clothing or equipment with you – but don’t forget your camera.
DAY 2 – MAURITIUS ILE AUX CERFS CATAMARAN CRUISE WITH LUNCH
Your Port Louis Mauritius Ile Aux Cerfs catamaran cruise with lunch kicks off with pick up from your island hotel. Travel in the comfort of an air-conditioned coach to Jerome Point on the southeast coast of Mauritius. Set sail on your luxurious catamaran and experience the beauty of epic landscapes and turquoise waters as you cruise through placid seas. Choose to snorkel alongside colorfull tropical fish and coral reefs in a picturesque lagoon during a scheduled stop, or stay dry on deck and soak up the tropical sun as you make your way to the Grand River waterfall. Once you’ve worked up an appetite, savor a delicious barbecue lunch on board your catamaran, served alongside plenty of complimentary beer, wine and soda. Relax on the open-air sun deck with a full belly as your skipper takes you toward Ile Aux Cerfs. This island paradise is home to white sandy beaches, towering palms and beautiful, crystal clear waters. Spend time at your leisure—sunbathing, snorkeling or enjoying water sports (own expense) on the island’s shores. After an incredible Ile Aux Cerfs catamaran cruise in the waters around Mauritius, make your way back to Jerome Point where your friendly driver will transport you to your local hotel.
DAY 3 – NORTH ISLAND TOUR
Your local guide will transport you from your island hotel and transport you in an air-conditioned coach to the capital city of Port Louis, where your Mauritius countryside day trip with Creole lunch in a local home kicks off. You’ll learn about the island’s history and the famous flightless dodo as you stare out over picturesque landscapes. Enjoy a guided walking tour of the city where you’ll take in the panoramic views of Fort Adelaide, as well as tour St Louis Cathedral and Place d’Armes. Wander the stalls of the colourful Central Market and make a stop at the Le Cauden Waterfront Shopping mall and Blue Penny Museum. Once you’ve explored the city and worked up an appetite make your way to the home of a local family where you’ll be served a Creole lunch that’s typical of the island alongside a tall glass of pineapple lemonade. With full bellies you’ll make your way to the tour’s final stop—Pamplemousses Botanical Garden. These colonial-era gardens are home to impressive tropical displays of exotic trees, flowers and amazonica lilies.
DAY 4 – SOUTH ISLAND TOUR
Enjoy the scenery and learn about the area’s flora, fauna and history from your guide as you drive along the west coast to the Rivière Noire District. Pass through Le Morne, La Prairie and Macondé before curving back into the mountains to the picturesque village of Chamarel. Visit Chamarel Waterfall, the tallest waterfall in Mauritius that plunges more than 328 feet (100 meters) against a scenic backdrop of forests and mountains. Continue to the Seven Coloured Earth, a striking geological formation created by volcanic rocks that cooled at different temperatures. Admire the exposed hillsides glowing with red, brown, violet, green, blue, purple and yellow colors. Next, head to La Rhumerie de Chamarel distillery to sample local rum. Follow your tasting with a delicious, traditional 3-course lunch served with Chamarel coffee and water at a local restaurant. After lunch, continue up to a high plateau and reach a viewpoint over Black River Gorges National Park. Listen as your guide points out the variety of flora and fauna thriving below. In the district of Savanne, visit the secluded Grand Bassin lake, an important place of worship for Mauritian Hindus. Your last stop is the Trou Aux Cerfs, a huge volcanic crater formed millions of years ago. From here you’ll enjoy a beautiful panoramic view of the island. Your tour concludes with a drop-off at your hotel in the evening.
